If you are a Rhino user travelling often, we have many professional Mobile Workstations to fit your needs. We suggest using the secondary HDD or Network Attached Storage (NAS) for files long-term storage and backups. HDDs are much slower than SSDs but offer large storage capacities at much lower prices. You can also add a secondary traditional Hard Disk Drive. If the budget matters more to you, SATA SSDs would be the best option. Both can work with Rhino, but you should choose an NVMe-based SSD for the best performance. There are two kinds of Solid States Drives available today. Opening applications/project files will be fast and responsive. Faster drive speeds will make your system more responsive and quicker at starting Windows. SSDs are much faster than traditional Hard Disk Drives. We suggest using a Solid State Drive for your next Workstation for Rhino. Increasing the system memory to at least 32GB ensures you have the space to keep your system running as smoothly as possible. We suggest a minimum of 32GB of RAM for all our Rhino customers. A Rhino user who works on big projects or uses other applications simultaneously will quickly use up 16GB of RAM, and system performance will drop significantly. 16GB of system RAM may work for some users, but this needs to be higher for most users. Rhino states that you need at least 16GB of system memory. GPU rendering improves a lot when you add more cards for example, adding a second graphics card will almost double your GPU rendering performance. To increase GPU rendering performance further, consider configuring multiple GPUs in our AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ Pro and Intel® Xeon® W Workstations. We suggest choosing a high-end NVIDIA graphics card for GPU rendering using plugins such as V-Ray. The optimised driver and increased support also make the professional GPUs a must-have for Rhino users. Professional NVIDIA cards are more dependable than their consumer-focused NVIDIA GeForce counterparts. We suggest an entry-level Workstation class professional NVIDIA graphics card for 2D modelling and a mid to high-end professional NVIDIA RTX graphics card for 3D modelling. Rhino can work with many different graphics cards.
